Every year, 25 shoe shops in Flanders are closing their doors: “People used to buy a pair of shoes costing 300 euros, but today, they think that 150 euros a pair is already expensive”

Every year in Flanders, 25 shoe shops are closing their doors: In the province of Limburg alone, as many as one in five shoe shops have closed in the past five years alone. Shoe retailers themselves have explained this by saying: “inflation, staffing problems and unpredictable weather have been conspiring against us."
